Independent project and permissionless use
CC0SERFIES is an independent art project by Nissla, inspired by XCOPY's original proto SERFIE and the broader CC0 ethos of crypto art.
SERFIES are released under a CC0 (Creative Commons Zero) dedication. To the extent permitted by law, CC0 allows works to be freely used, copied, modified, remixed, exhibited, and built upon without asking for permission.
SERFIES is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to XCOPY. The project is independently created and operated by Nissla. Any references to XCOPY or use of CC0 material should not be interpreted as an endorsement, partnership, or collaboration.

Privacy
Wallet optionalSERFIES does not require an account or registration other than connecting a crypto wallet.
We do not intentionally collect or store personal information that directly identifies individual visitors. The website does not use advertising trackers or require cookies for its core functionality.
The site may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate usage, such as general traffic and page views. These analytics are intended to measure overall site activity rather than identify, track, or profile individual visitors.
Connecting a cryptocurrency wallet is optional. Wallet addresses are public blockchain data and are not inherently anonymous. If you choose to connect a wallet, the connected address may be displayed or processed by the website and associated blockchain services as necessary to provide wallet-related functionality.
The “Connect wallet” dialog on most pages is provided by Reown (WalletConnect). When you open it, the list of wallets and their icons is loaded from Reown’s servers. If you connect a wallet app through WalletConnect (for example with the QR code or on a phone), the connection is relayed through Reown’s servers, which receive your IP address and, once connected, your wallet address. Wallets installed in your browser connect directly.
The editors-only archive sets a single session cookie after an editor signs in with their wallet. It keeps the editor signed in and is not used for tracking.
Each SERFIE has its own wallet (an ERC-6551 token bound account), shown on the SERFIE’s page. Before a holder activates it or first sends anything from it, they accept a short disclaimer by signing it with their wallet. Signing is free and sends no transaction. We store the signed text, the holder’s wallet address, the SERFIE’s wallet address, the signature and the time, as proof of that acceptance; no IP address or browser data is stored with it. Images of the NFTs a SERFIE wallet holds are loaded from Alchemy’s image servers or, for some collections, from the collection’s own servers; like any image host, they see your IP address.
